Arnold Schönberg’s “Die Jacobsleiter” at the Elbphilharmonie
In November, Anne Schwanewilms will be a guest in Hamburg: in the Elbphilharmonie’s Great Hall, she will sing in Schönberg’s “Die Jacobsleiter” with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra under the direction of Ingo Metzmacher. The unfinished oratorio is inspired by a story from the Old Testament in which Jacob, the grandson of Abraham, dreams of a ladder to heaven. Schönberg would have been 150 years old in September 2024.
Concert: 9 November 2024, 8 p.m.
